Focus on God's constant love for you.
"May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put
our hope in you" Psalm 33:22
Discover how hope is both active (seeking) and
submissive (waiting)
"The LORD is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one
who seeks Him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the
LORD" Lamentations 3:25-26
Immerse yourself in God's Word.
"For everything that was written in the past was written to teach
us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the
Scriptures we might have hope" Romans 15:4
Don't be shy about asking God to intervene on your behalf.
"The widow who is really in need and left all alone puts her hope
in God and continues night and day to pray and to ask God for
help" I Timothy 5:5
Watch for God's footprints in your life.
"But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, wait for God my
Savior; my God will hear me" Micah 7:7
Remember that hope is a choice, especially when you're
discouraged.
"Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within
me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior
and my God" Psalm 42:11
Look at suffering as a means to strengthen your hope.
"We rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we
also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering
produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character,
hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has
poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He
has given us" Romans 5:2-5
Reflect often on the certainty of Christ's return.
"Set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus
Christ is revealed" I Peter 1:13
Recognize that God is the source of all genuine hope.
"Know that I am the LORD; those who hope in me will not be
disappointed." Isaiah 49:23
