| WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT…. WORRY Luke 12:22-34 22 And He said to His disciples, "For this reason I say to you, do not be anxious for our life, as to what you shall eat; nor about your body, as to what you shall put on. 23 “For life is more than food, and the body more clothing. 24 “Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap; and they have no storeroom nor barn; and yet God feeds them; how much more valuable you are than birds! 25 “And which of you by being anxious can add a single cubit to his life’s span? 26 “If then you cannot do even a very little thing, why are you anxious about other matters? 27 “Consider the lilies, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; but I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory did not clothe himself like one of these. 28 “But if God so arrays the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you, O men of little faith! 29 “And do not seek what you shall eat, and what you shall drink, and do not keep worrying. 30 “For all these things the nations of the world eagerly seek; but your Father knows that you need these things. 31”But seek for His kingdom, and these things shall be added to you. 32 "Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom. 33 “Sell your possessions and give to charity; make yourselves purses which do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven where no thief comes near, nor moth destroys. 34 “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Philippians 4:4-9 4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! 5 Let your forbearing spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things. 9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things; and the God of peace shall be with you. |
